Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist, Cleveland Clinic, London (United Kingdom)
Prof. Bernard Prendergast is the Chair of Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic London and maintains NHS activities as a Consultant Cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in Westminster.
He has extensive experience in cardiology with many award recognitions, and is a national and international key opinion leader. He has been Honorary Secretary of the British Cardiovascular and Cardiovascular Intervention Societies, and Chairman of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Valvular Heart Disease.
Prof. Prendergast’s research interests focus on the epidemiology and interventional treatment of valvular heart disease. He has >300 original articles and book chapters published, including high impact leading articles in The New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, Lancet, and European Heart Journal. Prof. Prendergast is the principal Course Director of PCR London Valves, and a senior member of the PCR Board.
Senior Consultant Cardiac surgeon, German Heart Institute Berlin, Berlin (Germany)
Prof. Jörg Kempfert is a Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the German Heart Centre Berlin in Germany.
After finishing Medical School in Hamburg and Leipzig, he started his Residency at the Heart Centre University Leipzig. After Board Certification he moved to the Kerckhoff Heart Institute in Bad Nauheim to work with Prof. Thomas Walther. In 2014 he joined the team of Prof. Volkmar Falk at the German Heart Centre Berlin.
His expertise is in structural and coronary interventions, with interests in minimally-invasive, endoscopic and transcatheter valve therapy, and aortic arch surgery.
Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery, University of Padova (Italy)
Dr. Augusto D´Onofrio is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and an Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Padova.
His professional interests include transcatheter aortic valve implantation, endovascular treatment of the aortic arch, hybrid procedures on the aortic arch, sutureless/rapid deployment aortic bioprostheses, aortic surgery, coronary artery disease.
He has published work in reputable journals such as American Journal of Cardiology and JACC-Cardiovascular Interventions. He is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network and European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
Interventional Cardiologist / Cardiologist, University Rouen Hospital , Rouen (France)
Prof. Helene Eltchaninoff is the Head of the Department of Cardiology at University Hospital of Rouen, in France. She specialises in Cardiology, with a focus on transcatheter valve therapies (specifically TAVI) and more.
She has conducted research in the field of percutaneous treatment of valvulopathies, her department's flagship theme. Together with Alain Cribier, she implanted the first percutaneous aortic valve in the world in April 2002.
Prof. Eltchaninoff is a member of the University Hospital Federation (FHU). She coordinates the FHU REMOD-VHF that brings together partners from 4 University Hospitals (Rouen, Amiens, Caen and Lille), 3 INSERM Units, 1 CNRS centre and 1 University Host Team around endothelium, valvular heart disease and heart failure themes. She has contributed to several conferences, such as PCR London Valves and ESC Congresses. She has also (co-)authored numerous publications in top journals in the cardiovascular field.
Interventional Cardiologist / Cardiologist, Bern University Hospital (Switzerland)
Prof. Fabien Praz is an Interventional Cardiologist, Senior Physician, Head of Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Diseases, and Head of the Experimental Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Bern University Hospital, Switzerland.
After his postdoctoral research fellowship at Columbia University Medical Centre, New York City, USA, he received Habilitation (Priv.-Doz.) in Cardiology in 2019. His main areas of expertise are mitral valve regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation, mitral stenosis, and aortic valve stenosis.
His work has been published in many reputable and peer reviewed journals including the American Journal of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Interventions and International Journal of Cardiology.
